CurrentOn Training’s DOT Designated Employer Representative (DER) Drug and Alcohol Awareness Training provides comprehensive training on DOT drug and alcohol testing compliance for Designated Employer Representatives. It is recommended that this course be taken in combination with DOT Supervisor Reasonable Suspicion: Signs and Symptoms Drug and Alcohol Training.  

Objectives

The DOT Designated Employer Representative (DER) Drug and Alcohol Awareness Training aims to provide each learner with the knowledge necessary to: 

  • Cover the basics of a DOT-mandated substance abuse program. 

  • Provide an in-depth review of all components of a testing program. 

  • Review all reasons for testing.  

  • Explain the laboratory drug testing process and the responsibilities of the Medical Review Officer (MRO). 

  • Provide DERs with helpful suggestions for organizing and storing documents in preparation for a federal or state audit. 

  • Answer some of the most frequently asked questions. 

By the end of this program, you should feel equipped and confident leading your company’s drug and alcohol testing program and assisting your company’s management team with any decisions that must be made in relation to the substance abuse program.
